Environmental Engineer at Barracuda

Your Role

We are looking for an engaged and experienced environmental engineer who wants to lead and develop Barracuda's environmental and sustainability work. In this role, you will have overall responsibility for coordinating and driving the company's work in environmental and sustainability matters, in close collaboration with both internal and external stakeholders. You will ensure that the business complies with applicable legislation and permits, and you will be responsible for contacts with authorities and certification bodies.

As an environmental engineer with us, you will lead the work on environmental permits, both when applying for new permits and when changes to existing ones are needed. You will coordinate and participate in inspections and periodic reviews from, for example, the environmental office, County Administrative Board, and DNV, and you will be responsible for following up on activities related to these. An important part of the role is to be responsible for reporting and following up on environmental goals, as well as supporting the management team in developing new goals within environmental and sustainability areas.

You will also be responsible for activities in the environmental annual cycle, such as reporting, audits, inspections, and sampling. The role further involves participation in various Saab forums and steering groups where you represent Barracuda. You will also contribute to risk assessments of chemical workplace risks and environmental risks to ensure a safe and sustainable operation.

Your Profile

We are looking for someone with an academic degree in environmental engineering, environmental science, or equivalent, and who has approximately three to five years of experience in environmental and sustainability work. You have good knowledge of environmental legislation and permit processes, as well as excellent communication and coordination skills. You enjoy working both independently and in teams and have good IT skills.
